HydroWorx Aquatic Therapy at Kinetic Edge Physical Therapy

At Kinetic Edge, we’re proud to offer HydroWorx aquatic therapy at our Oskaloosa clinic
— a state-of-the-art, water-based rehabilitation option designed to help you recover faster, move more comfortably, and build strength with less pain. HydroWorx therapy combines the therapeutic power of water with advanced technology to support a wide range of conditions and goals.

What is HydroWorx Therapy?

HydroWorx therapy uses a specially designed aquatic therapy pool equipped with features such as an underwater treadmill, adjustable water depth, resistance jets, and video monitoring. Our physical therapists guide you through customized exercises in the buoyant water environment, where the effects of gravity are reduced and movement is easier and safer.

How It Works

Water naturally supports your body, reducing the impact of gravity on joints and muscles. This makes aquatic therapy ideal for those who:

  • – Are recovering from surgery or injury
  • – Have chronic pain or arthritis
  • – Experience difficulty with land-based exercise
  • – Want to improve strength, balance, or gait mechanics

The HydroWorx pool’s adjustable treadmill allows you to walk, jog, or run in the water with far less joint stress, while resistance from water jets helps build strength and stability with control.

Benefits of HydroWorx Therapy

Reduced Pain & Joint Stress
Water’s buoyancy supports body weight, significantly reducing pressure on painful joints and allowing movement that might be too difficult or painful on land.

Faster Progress & Early Motion
Because exercises in water are easier on the body, you can often begin meaningful movement and rehabilitation sooner than with traditional land-based therapy.

Improved Strength & Flexibility
Water provides natural resistance in all directions, helping patients build muscle strength, endurance, and range of motion safely.

Enhanced Gait & Balance Training
The underwater treadmill and controlled environment let therapists work on walking mechanics and balance with less risk of falls or discomfort.

Comfort & Confidence
Warm water enhances circulation and relaxes muscles, creating a comfortable therapeutic setting that many patients prefer.

Who Can Benefit?

HydroWorx aquatic therapy is highly versatile. People who often benefit include those with:

  • – Orthopedic injuries and post-operative needs
  • – Chronic pain conditions
  • – Arthritis or joint replacements
  • – Neurological or balance impairments
  • – Sports injuries and conditioning goals
  • – Limited mobility due to age or pain

Our therapists tailor every session to your specific needs so you get the most out of every visit.
